Scope of Work

Ever wonder what kind of products beardsmen use to maintain their look? Want to get connected with a community tailored to Beards, Beard Products, and Beard Charities? 

Welcome to Beards United, your favorite mobile app for all things beard. For this project, we were tasked with creating a mockup interface for investors to secure funding on the Beards United Social Club & Shop App.

Designed Screens & Wireframes

After collaborating with the founders and Product Managers of this brand, we started to flesh out features that would cater to their custom beard product line clientele. We worked to create some stunning brand consistency and have all aspects of the bearded community under one roof. 

Overview / Homepage

Features the current bidding amount raised for charities through the platform. Scrolling reveals quick links to other features like beard bidding competitions, access to your favorite beard products, and blog posts of upcoming beard events.

Shop

The Beards United shop showcases a few different way to organize shoppable content. Screen showcase shopping by brand, deal of the day or easy browsing of available products.

To shave or not-shave?

Beard bidding profiles over a way to engage with other beards-men looking to raise money for a charity that matters to them. Ability to add a vote to shave or not-shave a beard along with monetary donation button. Scroll down to reveal charity they are sponsoring, their favorite products and a short bio on what kind of beards-men they are!


Areas of focus

For this project, I took direction straight from the stakeholders to make their application come to life! I was able to suggest a few ideas like the charity funds counter on the homepage and ability to have different ways to shop products. We had a short timeline, but received great engagement form potiential investors.

KEY LEARNINGS

I would have liked to had more time to research the beardsmen communities ahead of design. There were a lot of features that have great potiential, but need additional iterations to make the experience seemless and fun to engage with.

I'd begin iterating on the app mock-ups and help locate the biggest product market fit this application has going for it. Ask questions like what makes it unique?

Look at user interactions and ways to create more gamification for increased engagement. Are there other brands/companies that we can partner with to elevate our app's offerings?

Connect a prototype and test it with our ideal user personas to gather initial feedback and identify improvements. Best way to assess it to test!
